Holy cliffhanger batman!

I read this book with a lot of hope but when I got to the end I felt like I had only read half a story. Kendal Moore and Jax Parker were a couple when Kendal was in college and she became pregnant just when Jax's band was becoming popular and decided to break things off with him so her and the baby wouldn't hold him back.

The book begins four years after the breakup with Kendal being a single mother of Finley and Jax being a huge rocker coming home for a album writing hiatus in the same town. The entire book is literally about Kendal Moore and Jax Parker dancing around each other with their individual friends until the last 30% of the book where they meet and act amicably. The last chapter leaves us with a "you the daddy" fight and BAM nothing else

I just need more. More togetherness of Kendal Moore and Jax Parker. More parenting for poor dadless Finley. And I need some thunder to occur from all this chemistry being created
I will be reading the second book but grudgingly so.

Rockstar Daddy Decoy Series Book 1 eBook KT Fisher Clarise Tan Reviews

This is the story of Jax and Kendal and is told from both of their points of view which added to the story telling. The characters were well developed and the plot flowed well. When Kendal finds out she is pregnant she ends things with Jax who’s in an up and coming rock band. She seems to do this with Jax’s best interests in mind, as she doesn’t want to stand in the way of his dream which is of being in a famously successful rock band. The story fast forwards four years and the story continues, this is a story of love and romance.

The story was rather long winded and when they finally looked like they might reunite the story ended in a cliff hanger. The next book is available so I will be picking it straight up to see where this story leads. There are still some issues with the editing of this book and the way the story overlapped POV at times which I found a little frustrating. However overall I did enjoy this story and gave it 3.5 stars.
After reading the reviews I thought this book would be really great. I had just finished rereading the Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott and wanted more rock star love, I thought this would help my literary craving. I gotta say that there was never a high point to this book. There was a lot of unnecessary details, and it seemed like it was just thrown in to make the book longer.
The characters themselves were just okay. I often found Kendal to be annoying and whiney. I didn't fall in love with Jax either. He's supposed to have this bad boy persona for the band, but he kinda seems wimpy at moments. I know he loves her, but still.
There's a cliffhanger to this book, everything worth happening is in the last 10 pages and then she just cuts it off. Of course I had to buy the second book to see what would happen and it's more of the same thing.
There's rarely any kind of tension between the characters. Everything just seems to fall into place for this couple and its too perfect to be believable.
If you like books where everything is packaged up with a nice little bow, barely any tension, and some forgettable characters, this may be the series for you. I can say I won't be continuing with the series.
I will admit that when I first read the synopsis of this book I was a little leery of the storyline. I sometimes have a hard time with stories that feature secret children that no one knows about for years and where the child never asks about the missing parent, or the parent doesn't really seem to have remorse about keeping the secret. This is not one of those stories as I thought it was very well written.

First of all, I loved all of the characters. They were so well developed and realistic that the story hooked me from the very beginning. Kendal's relationship with Finn was very well written and made the story emotional to show how she constantly second guessed her decision to not tell Jax about the baby. I have read similar books where there is a secret pregnancy and they have been written to make it appear so easy for the mother to walk away and raise the child. I find that extremely unbelievable. Raising a child is a big commitment and I like that Fisher developed a good support base for Kendal and Finn. The supporting characters may not have believed that Kendal's choice was the best, but they supported her no matter what which is what true dedicated friends do. Jax is such a strong character and you can tell from the beginning that all he has ever wanted was a family and he was hoping him and Kendal would have that. It is heartbreaking in parts to know Finn exists when Jax has no idea.

When Kendal hears of Jax's relocation to their hometown you instantly wonder how long it will be until she sees him and tells him the truth about their son. There are few times when you think it will happen and it doesn't and the author does a great job at detailing the internal struggle that Kendal goes through knowing she needs to tell him and Finn about each other, but just isn't quite sure when or how to do it. In the end, the big reveal is not done in a way favorable to Kendal or Jax and sets a good starting point for the sequel.

Although parts of the story line were a little predictable, for instance I knew way before it was revealed that Reece had to be Rhys from the band, I really loved this book and was anxious to read the sequel. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to fellow readers of rock band, romance books.
